Phonics
Our aim is that every child at Springwell Village Primary School will learn to read confidently, fluently and for enjoyment. We follow the Little Wandle scheme where children in Reception and Year 1 will participate in daily whole class phonics sessions and read books appropriate to their phonics knowledge 3x weekly in a small group before the same book is sent home. Children will also have the opportunity to participate in "keep up" sessions if needed.
